Ag Center to host Fall Festival
Gardeners should plan to spend a fun-filled
day at the University of Tennessee Plateau AgResearch
and Education Center on aug. 31. from 10 a.m until 4
p.m. the center will host a Fall Gardeners' Festival,
and whether, your gardening interests lie along the
lines of gardening for beautiful flowers or raising
tasty foods, you are sure to find presentations and
exhibits of interest. Sponsored by the Cumberland County
Master Gardeners, UT Extention, and the Plateau AgResearch
and Education Center, more that nine talks and additional
activities will be presented by UT experts and local
gardening personalities.
Knoxville has New
Tranist Building
A new transit center officially opens Monday in Knoxville
after two years of construction.
The 108,000 square-foot station is at the edge of downtown
at 301 Church Avenue by the intersection with Hall of
Fame Drive.
It has a bus platform that spans James White Parkway,
along with a geothermal heating and cooling system,
a green roof, a solar array and a bus tracking system
for passengers.
The center is operated by Knoxville Area Transit, which
runs the city's bus and trolley system.
